GE Improvements: Beyond Max Cash
Official Old School RuneScape changes to tradeable items and Grand Exchange rules. Read what changed, then check today’s market before placing an offer.
What changed
The GE now accepts offers above the old 2.147b GP cap using coins and platinum tokens, including for the 3rd Age pickaxe. The effective cap is about 2.149 trillion GP with combined currency holdings. Stacks remain capped at 2.147b. Buy limits are unchanged, and GE tax is still capped at 5 million coins per item.
Guide prices can now change by up to 20% instead of 5%, with updates every 3 hours rather than every 24 hours. Lower-volume items that previously missed the trade-volume threshold also get updates.
A known issue converts platinum tokens to GP during GE transactions. Improvements are planned for a future update. The stated workaround is to carry the exact coins needed for a purchase in your inventory.
