The Red Reef is Out Today!

What changed

This update adds Chainshot cannonballs, which halve enemy movement speed for 5 seconds while dealing regular cannonball damage. It also adds Incendiary cannonballs, whose burns ignore flat armour bonuses at sea. Both recipes run up to Rune, with new tradeable Rubium splinters used for Incendiary rounds.

The Red Reef unlocks the Bosun's Bench schematic. The new facility consumes Repair kits from your Cargo Hold for automatic repairs. Building it requires 6 Camphor planks, 24 Adamantite nails and 2 Lead bars, plus 63 Sailing and 54 Construction.

Deep Sea Trawling's gather interval falls from 4 ticks to 3 ticks. A bug was fixed so baited shoals increase catches by 20%.

New tradeable Rubium splinters are mined from Rubium Rocks at 48 Mining in the Charred Island Dungeon, or obtained by breaking down Rubium geodes. At an anvil, 10 splinters and 2 matching cannonballs make 2 Incendiary cannonballs, up to Rune. Rubium geodes are untradeable and require 68 Mining to mine. Official note (opens in a new tab)

Steel bars can be smithed into chains for the new Chainshot cannonballs. The chains are combined with cannonballs at an anvil, supporting tiers up to Rune. Official note (opens in a new tab)

The new Bosun's Bench consumes Repair kits from your Cargo Hold when an assigned player or crewmate repairs the boat. It repairs only when healing is needed, without overhealing, and still benefits from the crew's Deckhandiness. Official note (opens in a new tab)

Revenant cave teleport scrolls now have a Drop option and can be dropped on the ground. Official note (opens in a new tab)

More changes in this update

The new sail-colour recipes each consume 10 matching dye at the Shipyard and require 41 Sailing. Individual dye items are not named.
