    Before you go

What to bring for one kill with this setup.

    • 32 sharksor 636 HP of food
    • 23 prayer dosesUses about 621 prayer points. You have 70.

That’s more food than your bag holds. A faster setup above needs less. With no prayer, its normal hits would take about 915 HP a kill, and each one you miss can hit up to 11. Food covers the hits we count, missing 1 prayer in 5 and each attack below landing once. Gear with a prayer bonus makes prayer last longer.

    What prayer won’t stop

    • Glowing symbolsUp to 16Lightning strikes glowing marks on the ground.Step off the glowing marks right away.

    How Gear Up works
    • Damage uses the same formulas as the OSRS Wiki’s DPS calculator, with the best prayer you have and a potion boost.
    • We start from the cheapest weapon you can use. Then we keep adding the one buy that adds the most damage for its price.
    • Best value is where the curve bends: past it, each extra million buys much less damage. We find the bend with the Kneedle method on a log scale of GP.
    • Good is the best-value setup. Better is the strongest setup for up to 5 times its price (or 10M), and Best for up to 50 times (or 100M). We only show a tier when it kills at least a tenth faster than the one below it.
    • Slots left empty get a cheap piece for defence, marked “for defence”. It never lowers your damage, and its price is in the total.
    • Damage taken is the HP the monster’s normal attacks take off you each kill. We use the Wiki calculator’s formulas and assume you pray against the attack that hurts most.
    • When another setup loses at least a fifth less HP a kill (and 40 HP or more), we offer it as a safer setup. It stops at the last buy that saves at least a shark (20 HP) a kill. Ruby bolts are left out, since each one takes some of your own HP.
    • Kill counts on the hiscores tell us some things: a Jad kill means a fire cape, and a Vorkath kill means Dragon Slayer II. Quests aren’t on the hiscores, so tell us the ones that matter.
    • Before you go adds food for missing 1 prayer in 5, and for each attack prayer won’t stop landing once. We list those attacks from the Wiki for the hardest fights; for others, check the fight’s Wiki page. Prayer points assume no prayer bonus.
    • Not counted yet: thralls, blowpipe scales, prayer flicking and the cost of ammo and runes.

Item and monster stats come from the OSRS Wiki DPS calculator, GE prices from the OSRS Wiki and levels from Wise Old Man.
